Carol Newsom, Principal
An effective communicator, designer and wayfinding planner for 25 years, Carol oversees all design and administrative functions of the studio and shares the direct management of all projects with NG partner Lucy Gonzalez. Her extensive experience with typography and information design at many scales transforms the components of each environmental design program produced. Her love of the urban landscape has made her sensitive to the way sign “interventions” are perceived. She has taught at Woodbury University, Otis College of Art, Art Center College of Design, Cal Poly Pomona, Drake University and The Boston Museum School. One of the founders of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. She has also served on the board of The Architectural Foundation of Los Angeles and is a member of the Society of Experiential Graphic Design.
